The Cert IV Youth Work is a partnership with the local church & SU. Students will have placements within the church youth ministry and also SU’s Elevate schools ministry to build both ministries. They do intensives up in QLD and have online journals and readings.

Great opportunity if you have anyone in your church that …you want to train and shape for youth work.

There is also a Cert 3 Outdoor Rec, which is based in the SU campsite, Camp Coolamatong near Bairnsdale.

To jumpstart a generation...

Generation Y have a unique worldview which calls for new approaches if we want to get through to them.  Hyperreality, consumerism and self obsession are but just a few of the phenomenon that characterise the age we live in and the church needs to be able to understand their effects if we are to reach the people who are affected by them.

JumpStart Ministries would like to invite you to attend Understanding Gen Y, a seminar on the generation Y culture, their worldviews and their motivators.  The speaker for this event is Mark Sayers, a highly acclaimed speaker and author who specialises in interpreting popular culture from a Christian viewpoint (visit www.marksayersthinks.com for more info on Mark).

Apart from being interesting and educational, we are also hoping that this event will be a good opportunity for youth leaders to connect with, support and encourage each other.  After all, we are all in the same boat and facing the same challenges!  The seminar will be an interactive one, with the opportunity for discussion, experience sharing and other forms of audience participation.  We will also be encouraging delegates to have lunch together after the seminar.  Details of the seminar are as follows:
